Description
Sic Transit was written entirely on planes and commuter trains—hence the title, which is Latin for "Thus Passes"—it's from the expression "sic transit gloria mundi," which means "thus passes the glory of the world."

Despite the monotony of commuter trains, the piece is an adventurous romp, with rapid spans of the entire range of the instrument, sudden tempo and dynamic changes, and lyrical as well as furioso moments.
